BLOCKS 1, 2, and 3
Courses that I teach are listed on this page, along with a brief course description. There are no homework assignments in my keyboarding classes; therefore, I list the lessons in the text that will be covered for the week on my homework site.
I base my class grades on the following assessments: Daily grade is one-third of the student's grade, and tests are two-thirds of the student's grade. Every student is given 2.2 points for each class. If a student is absent for any reason, they may make up any missed assignment and gain the 2.2 points, which they missed due to their absence.
Every student will be required to keep a folder in class which will include all their daily assignments, along with any notes given in class. Students will also log any grade in the back cover of their folders. Folders are in the classroom at all times, and can be inspected by parents and/or administration at any time.
Students should be encouraged to always follow proper keying techniques by using the proper finger to strike each key. Also, students should always keep their eyes focused on their text while keying.
In every class, students will be required to do language and writing skills assignments. All writing test assignments will be graded on a rubric, which was developed by the business department at Valley View High School for use in this department.
Students who maintain an average of 100% on tests after three tests, in the Keyboarding I class will be included in the "100 Club." These students will remain in the "club" until they no longer score 100% on a test. All students included in the "100 Club" will be listed on my homework site under "notes" section.

SUPERWRITE AND CAREER AWARENESS !
This course is designed to assist students to increase their speed in making legible notes, to teach notemaking skills and study skills, and to improve spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation skills.
Students will become more aware of career choices and goals, and they will be required to complete many exercises in business skills and activities.
There will be several group activites, and all students will be required to participate in activities. These activities will relate to career awareness such as goal setting, writing effective resumes, and good interviewing skills.

All classes have completed learning the alphabetic and numeric keyboard. They have learned capitilization rules and numeric expression rules. Formatting reports, both unbound and MLA, and Cell Tables has been completed. After the holidays, students will begin learning how to format letters and memos.
THE 100 CLUB
All Keyboarding I students are invited to "join" "The 100 Club." This club is made up of students who have at least three 100's in a row in tests. After the first three tests of the semester, if a student is maintaining a 100% test average, they are in the club. In order to be retained in the club, a student must continue to maintain this 100% test average. If a student should get a grade lower than 100% in a test, after they are in the club, they can once again be readmitted into the club once they have scored three consecutive 100's on their tests. Good luck to all students, I hope I have several members in this club this semester. I will continue to list all members of this club weekly on this web page.
The current members of the 100 Club are: Shane Zeshonski, Christa Collarini, Shanna Dodgson Congratulations to these students for their achievements.
