Valley View has a Title I program that provides supplemental services in reading and math to students who are in need of assistance in meeting the state standards. Title I is one of several federally mandated programs provided to Valley View School District.
The Valley View School Board, in compliance with No Child Left Behind legislation, has adopted a Complaint Resolution Process for these programs. Title I staff can be contacted for additional information on this process.
Our Title I program involves eligible students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 and includes both reading and math. Mrs. Karen Spataro is our Title I Coordinator. Title I parents are invited to a Get Acquainted Night in the beginning of each year, which includes a discussion of our program at Valley View School District, various opportunities for parent involvement as well as the completion of a school - parent compact. Annually, parent notifications are sent to all parents informing them that they have the right to request teacher qualifications. In addition, Title I parents are invited to participate in a Parent Advisory Council, which works with staff on the updates of our parent involvement policy as well as ideas for parent nights and program improvements.
